Albion Park Show

The Albion Park Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Association was formed on September 9, 1887, at Carrington Hall by residents of Shellharbour and Albion Park. Local farmer J. Russell donated eight acres for a showground, later selling an additional three acres to expand it to eleven. The first show, held in January 1888, featured a strong display of what was then called the ordinary district breed, including 30 entries in the “Cow in Milk” class. The winner was described as an outstanding Illawarra cow
