Berry Show

The first show of the Berry Agricultural and Horticultural Association is believed to have been held at Broughton Creek in 1867. The present showground, later established on land donated by Sir John Hay, became the permanent venue in 1884. Early structures included an Agricultural Hall and an ornate wooden grandstand, later relocated in 1935. Over time, the grounds developed into one of the most picturesque on the South Coast, known for its tree-lined setting and strong community care. The Berry Show has long been recognised for its dairy cattle exhibits and remains a notable event reflecting the district’s agricultural heritage.
