Bulahdelah Show

The Bulahdelah A.H. & I. Association was formed in the early 1920s at the instigation of local doctor Kestevan, who served as founding president, with Cad Wilson as secretary. Early shows were held annually and developed a strong following, with families such as the Goochs closely involved, particularly in equestrian events. Support declined in later years and the association disbanded in 1968. A rodeo group continued activity on the grounds until a combined show and rodeo association was re-formed in 1983 under Royce Dorney, leading to a successful revival. Leadership then passed to Gary Gooch, continuing the district’s strong community involvement.
