Comboyne Show

Although the first settlers made their way to the rugged Comboyne plateau as early as 1889, the Comboyne Agricultural and Horticultural Society was not formed until 1932. Foundation president was G. Young. The first show was held in March, 1933, on land leased from Jack Jones, who later sold the society 10 acres for a permanent showground. "Popular Girl" competitions were held to raise money to buy the ground.
