Condobolin Show

The Condobolin Pastoral, Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Association held its first show in August 1885 on a 10-acre government grant at the eastern end of town. The show later moved to a larger site on the banks of the Lachlan River. Early leadership included president N.E. Gatenby and secretary R.D. Jones. The program featured a wide range of sections, including horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, produce, flowers and poultry. Over time, the show developed a strong emphasis on Merino sheep, reflecting the district’s pastoral importance.
