Cumnock Show

The first show of the Cumnock Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Association was held in 1886. Its foundation president, Eastmuir, came from Molong to help establish the society. The first official secretary, local schoolteacher McClennan, served until 1895, when he was succeeded by Mr Martin, bookkeeper at the well-known “Burrawong” station and regarded as one of the State’s finest debaters. Martin later died of tuberculosis, and all association records in his possession were destroyed.
