Glen Innes Show

The first agricultural society in the district was formed jointly with Inverell, with the inaugural show held there in 1869 and the following year at Glen Innes on unfenced ground without buildings. In 1876, Glen Innes separated to form its own body, now the Pastoral and Agricultural Association of Central New England. Since the late 1890s, when the main pavilion and grandstand were built, the showground has seen continuous development, including a large pavilion and modern rodeo yards, have enhanced facilities on grounds noted for their shade trees. The show featured 34 sections, while more than 30 organisations used the grounds throughout the year.
