Show History
The first show of the Gunnedah Show Association was held in August, 1888, the year of the Colony's first centenary. The association's foundation president was T.H. Goodwin, MP, honorary secretary, E.P. Brigstocke, and honorary treasurer, J.J. Hayden. The association later changed its name to the Gunnedah Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Association. The present showground was originally dedicated for racecourse and recreational purposes in 1874.
