Kiama Show

The Kiama Agricultural & Horticultural Association, formed in 1848, is the seventh oldest country show society in NSW. Its first president was James Macarthur of the Camden family. The show was long a moveable event before settling at its present grounds at Church Point. Early venues included a brewery, the Market Place (now the Post Office), and Blowhole Point, where the lighthouse now stands on the former show pavilion site. A striking exhibit of three tons of butter at the 1856 show became a lasting talking point across the South Coast.
