Kyogle Show

The Kyogle Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Society held its first show in 1908. Originally staged in May, persistent wet weather led to a change to October. Early features such as butterfat contests and pig classes have since given way to more contemporary events including stud dairy and beef cattle, goats, trotting, ring events, poultry, a championship dog show and pavilion exhibits. Much of the society’s early history was lost in the 1954 flood, but valuable recollections survive through recorded memories of early members, including George Clark, Bert Smith and Felix Darragh.
