Milton Show

The Milton Agricultural and Horticultural Association began as the Ulladulla A. & H. Association, formed on June 4, 1866. Its first event, a “grand ploughing match,” was held on July 27 at “Whopindilly,” the property of T.R. Kendall, drawing a festive crowd in Sunday best with picnic fare. The first full show of livestock and produce followed in March 1867. Today, the Milton Showground is owned by Shoalhaven Shire and jointly used by the association, cricket and football clubs. The 1984 show honoured the Warden family of Sunny Vale. H.D. Warden, who turned 100 that year, joined the committee in 1911 and served twice as president. In recognition of their long service, the entire family was granted life membership.
