Minto Show

The Minto Show began as fund-raising gymkhanas in the early 1950s, leading to the formation of the Minto Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Society and its first official show at Coronation Park in 1954. Early programs included horses, cattle, handicrafts and horticulture. Fred Goodsell served as president from 1959 to 1980, during which the show evolved with the district. The cattle section was dropped in 1967, and a championship dog show introduced in 1970. In 1980, the society lost Coronation Park but was granted new land by Campbelltown City Council to develop a combined showground and sports facility.
