Show History
District rivalries in the 1880s led to the formation of the Moss Vale and District Pastoral, Horticultural and Industrial Society. Disputes arose over venues used by the Burrawang and West Camden Farmers Club, which alternated shows between Burrawang and Moss Vale. Many western district farmers argued Burrawang was too distant from Moss Vale, Bowral and Mittagong. In response, the Berrima District A.H. & I. Society was formed in 1882, holding its first Moss Vale show in March 1884. It drew members from the Burrawang society and new supporters. In 1964, the society adopted its present name. The show remains on land originally granted by P.R. Throsby for the 1884 event.
