Mungindi Show

The first show of the Mungindi Pastoral and Agricultural Association was held on May 31, 1898, under the most unusual circumstances. Queensland cattle exhibits were drawn up on the banks of the Barwon River opposite the showground pavilion and judged on the Queensland side. Other exhibits were judged on the NSW side. The reason for the ostracism of Queensland cattle was that quarantine restrictions were in force because of a pleura outbreak
