Narrabri Show

The Narrabri Pastoral and Agricultural Association was formed in 1874, though dry seasons delayed the first show until November 1876. By 1879, it had established a six-acre showyard with an exhibition hall and stalls on the present racecourse site. In 1905, the body became the Narrabri Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Association under Dr Park, its longest-serving president. A 48-acre grant in 1939 enabled the move to the current showground at Dangar Park, and just before World War II the association was incorporated as a limited company.
