Nimmitabel Show

The Nimmitabel Pastoral and Agricultural Society held its first show in 1903 on land granted as a showground and recreation reserve. Annual shows have continued ever since, except during World War II and in 1969, when severe drought affected the Monaro. Trusteeship passed to Monaro Shire Council in the early 1950s. With council support, government grants and extensive voluntary labour, the showground has been rebuilt and progressively improved.
