Oberon Show

The first Oberon Show was held in 1896, though the exact date of the association’s formation is unknown. The inaugural event attracted 347 entries, rising to 663 by the third show. Under founding president John Hughes, JP, the association moved quickly to secure a permanent showground. Within two years, land was obtained, aided by government grants and subsidies, and the fifth annual show was held on the new site in 1900.
