Pambula Show

The first show of the Pambula Agricultural, Horticultural and Pastoral Society was held in 1902 on ground that is still used by the Pambula Race Club. First society president was Dr Morgan, with local storekeeper, J. Doherty, as secretary. Livestock and farm produce were the main features of the first show. There was also a woodchopping contest, sleeper-squaring and post-mortising. The first motorcar appeared at the 1906 show with patrons paying sixpence a drive from the show to Pambula town and back. The show was moved to the Pambula sports oval in 1975. It has been staged annually with the exception of two years during World War II.
