Stroud Show

The Stroud Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Association has held a show in Stroud each year since 1922, with the exception of the World War II years 1942-45. Traditionally the show is staged on the first weekend after Easter and so is the first event on the Northern Calendar following the Sydney Royal. The Australian Agricultural Company, founders of Stroud around 1830, set aside the "Stroud Park" for public use and the show is held there. The management of the ground has passed to the Great Lakes Shire Council. Main emphasis of the show was on camp drafting, olympic jumping, all other horse events, and general pavilion exhibits.
