-The first show in the Tumut district appears to have been one organised by Henry Hoad at his "Rose Farm", Bembowlee, in 1862. The official Tumut Agricultural and Pastoral Association was not formed until 1875, with its first show in 1876. It is of interest to note that there were prizes for a "collection of rabbits" and for Angora goats at the third show.
