The Upper Hunter Pastoral and Agricultural Association is believed to have been established in the early 1880s, though records date back to 1875. Early leadership included R.T. Keys and later the Hon. J.C. White.
The association recently staged its 94th show, with interruptions only during World Wars I and II, and occasional cancellations due to drought and flood. The show was once renowned for its strong horse events and then dairy cattle.
