Warren Show

The Warren Pastoral Association was formed in 1874, with its first show held on May 3, 1880, at Readford’s Stock Yards. Early classes ranged from blood horses and buggy ponies to Shorthorn cattle, Merino sheep, pigs and even “drought stock.” An estimated 400 people attended the inaugural one-day show—remarkable given the village population was about the same. That evening, vice-president W.R. Chapman of Egelabra Station presided over a celebratory dinner at the Royal Hotel.
