Wentworth Show

Wentworth's graziers first matched fleece against fleece, horse against horse and the town's aborigines danced a corroboree to celebrate the inaugural agricultural show in 1885. The site for the Pastoral, Agricultural and Industrial Society's showgrounds was gazetted on January 7, 1889. It took the greatest flood in Wentworth's history to cause a break in the annual event. This was in 1956 when water several feet deep covered the showground and the event of that year was cancelled.
